Marriage is a sacrament by which an
individual man and woman enter into a union in such a way
that they deliberately and consciously choose to live their
lives in such oneness that they incarnate the loving
relationship between Christ and the Church.
Preparation for this sacrament begins by contacting the
Parish office and scheduling a meeting with the Priest.
The Bishops of Michigan have agreed on both the process and
the length of time in which this process should minimally
take place: Preparation for the sacrament of marriage
will take place over the course of at least 6 months and
will include meeting with the Priest, taking a pre-marriage
inventory and participating in
Pre-Cana
Formation. Documents necessary to be married in
the church include baptismal records.
Persons seeking to get married in the
Church must be free to marry, therefore if there is a prior
marriage an annulment must be given by the church prior to
marriage.
Please call the Priest to begin the
process of Marriage preparation
